These chopping boards are made from offcuts which I source from my local sawmill which deals with only Scottish native timber. The nature of a sawmill means that many good quality offcuts become firewood. I use these offcuts to make chopping boards and I use the money made from them to fund my training to become a furniture maker. This is an environmentally friendly process as I use only waste products to create these boards and all of the timber is from Scotland.

Every board is unique and uses different sizes, types and layout of the different species. Every board I sell comes with it’s own unique card which shows the wood types used in the board in the order they are on your board so you can use it to learn to identify you native Scottish species!

Display Stand

If you would like to display these boards in your own shop, I also make display stands which I lend to store owners for the duration while my products are in stock. The design and size can be altered to suit your needs.

History of these boards

Mixed species chopping boards was the first project which me and my partner ever made together and then later they were also the first products we ever sold. Since then it has been a staple for me and I have made many over the last few years to sell and to give away as gifts.

This design means a lot to me as I have iterated on the design and my process of making them but they still very much remind of me and my partner learning and discovering together. She no longer does woodworking but she still helps me immensely now with graphic design, building this website, photography and much more.
